6. She Will Be Loved
Most classic bands have a one outstanding ballad in their repertoire. For Maroon 5, it was the first of many. Following the great success of “This Love,” “She Will Be Loved” was an early sign of the band’s desire for risky evolution, since they were confident enough to change the formula at the first chance. It was also one of their earliest chart-topping singles, reaching No. 1 in Australia three years before they achieved the same feat in their own country.
5. One More Night
You can’t talk about Maroon 5 without mentioning its charming frontman. In a video portrayal of a sad personal drama, “One More Night” may have been the occasion at which Adam Levine’s sex appeal was elevated to the forefront. Do their amazing visuals ever overwhelm the songs? Almost, but not quite… These people know what they are doing. This was Overexposed’s second single, recorded while Jesse Carmichael was away from the band and PJ Morton took over following a tour break.
